With the new program year, we wanted to share some news about our ministry with Children and Youth.

Last month we said goodbye to Gabrielle Bruestle who had been at St. John’s as Director of Children and Youth for the last two years. We’re incredibly grateful to Gabrielle for all she has done to develop a curriculum for children’s formation at St. John’s, and to nurture faith and community among the children. Gabrielle is now focusing on her fulltime role at the Key School in Annapolis. She will be very much missed.

Gabrielle’s departure did, however, provide us with an opportunity to rethink our staffing needs. We now have an increasing number of children and youth who are too old to have their needs met by Children’s Chapel. So, we’re delighted to have recruited wonderful staff for two new roles. Laura Demiri will now be responsible for leading Children’s Chapel, and Leah Timmerhoff will be developing new programming for our youth.
