UCAN is a cooperative organization of member churches located in Cockeysville that provides emergency assistance to those in need in Northern Baltimore County. Rental assistance to prevent evictions and utility payments to avoid turn-offs are priorities, as well as referrals for other needs. Unique at UCAN is the high-quality and highly motivated volunteer base that allows UCAN to keep their overhead to 4%, which means the 96% of all donations are returned directly to those in need.
