I was born and raised as a Catholic in Towson, MD and went to Catholic Schools all my life. After taking some steps back from the Catholic faith and some soul-searching after College, I moved to Southern California and lived there for nine years. Upon returning, I connected with Christianna, after knowing her most of my life. She introduced me to the Episcopalian faith and her family parish of St. John’s. It’s hard not to fall for the ideal charms, spirit, traditions, and community of this lovely parish. I have a particular love of the stellar music program here! Christianna and I were married here, and our daughter Abbie was baptized here. Christianna previously served in the vestry, and I have been a lector at the parish for several years.
I work at NASA in cybersecurity, and my hobbies include cooking, gardening, fishing, guitar, and mushroom foraging. Thank you for this special opportunity to serve the St John’s Community as a member of vestry!

Following an ideal life growing up in Ohio, I met and married Michael, my husband of 49 years, after college and was blessed to be a full-time mom for Allison and Christopher. I assumed long term substitute teaching positions and discovered external opportunities to incorporate my love for writing. Many opportunities opened for extensive volunteer/philanthropic involvement, including numerous stints as construction crew leader for Habitat for Humanity blitz builds. The empty nester years introduced me to the real estate world.
Baptized in the CMA Church I enjoyed a foundation based on teachings of the Bible. 25 years ago, I began searching for something to nourish a void and recently found St. John’s Church where I got involved in coffee hour, book discussions, adult forums and joined the Music in the Valley and Pastoral Care Committees. St. John’s tapped into my floundering faith, helping me feel centered and at peace. Here, I find a true sanctuary, a sense of community and solace. I’m honored to be considered for Vestry and want to offer service, outreach, support I’ve attended many churches and found congregations, but here, I discovered a church family, and that has made all the difference. The people at St. John’s are like the pillars on a porch. Sometimes you hold me up, sometimes I lean on you, and sometimes it’s enough to know you’re standing by. I would love to be a pillar for you.

I am a cradle Episcopalian, having grown up in a rectory. My father, brother, and son all served in the Episcopal church. My mother was an organist and I sang in youth choir and later adult choir. I attended West Chester University, graduating in 1967 and taught for five years before raising my two sons. I worked at that time as Pre-School Director.
In 1998, my husband was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma from which he succumbed in 2005. During this period, I worked as a claims adjuster/customer service representative for Independence Blue Cross. After my husband’s death, I worked in my church as parish administrator for two years until I moved to Chester County, PA. While attending a church in the Paoli area for eight years, I was privileged to sing in the choir and have opportunities to sing at two different weekly residences in cathedrals in England.
In 2017, I moved to MD near one son, daughter-in-law and two grandsons. I joined St John’s in July 2017.
It is a privilege to be asked to serve on St John’s Vestry.
